ACDI/VOCA, a US international NGO, seeks to fill the following positions on its Idku Livelihoods Development Initiative (ILDI). This project provides training and support to fishermen and farmers in the Idku region, to improve their livelihoods and increase their incomes. All applicants should live within a one hour commute to Idku, Beheira. The following are summaries of the job descriptions
(1) Field Office Manager
Under the supervision of the project director, the incumbent will mainly direct programmatic and logistical resources towards achieving the ILDI objectives set forth in the project proposal
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinate and oversee planning and implementation of project activities; identify and prepare scopes of work for master trainers to deliver training and technical assistance; review training and other technical materials prior to publication; facilitate the efforts of the monitoring and evaluation team; review weekly activity reports and prepare quarterly progress reports on project activities; supervise and coordinate the activities of subordinate technical staff and consultants; manage the day-to-day administrative and technical activities of the Idku field office; liaise with local stakeholders and community leaders; and attend coordination and planning meetings with the project donor
The incumbent should have a master’s degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., business management, economics, agriculture, or marine science) as well as ten years of relevant work experience. He should also command spoken & written English and possess excellent managerial and supervisory skills
(2) Program Coordinator
Under the supervision of the field office manager, the incumbent will coordinate with farmers associations or community leaders to enroll targeted farmers in project activities and to schedule training and field visits; accompany master trainers in training and in the field and follow-up with farmers to assist in applying recommendations; attend training events; participate in developing progress reports and success stories; and facilitate baseline and impact surveys by linking the M & E team with farmers and associations
The incumbent should have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture as well as five years of relevant work experience
(3) Program Coordinator
Under the supervision of the field office manager, the incumbent will coordinate with fishermen’s associations or community leaders to enroll targeted fishermen (traditional lake and sea fishermen and shellfish collectors) in project activities and to schedule training and field visits; accompany master trainers in training and in the field and follow-up with fishermen to assist in applying recommendations; attend training events; participate in developing progress reports and success stories; and facilitate baseline and impact surveys by linking the M & E team with fishermen and associations
The incumbent should should have a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field (e.g., marine biology) as well as five years of relevant work experience
(4) Office/Admin Assistant
The incumbent will mainly assist the field office manager in meeting the administrative, logistical, and personnel requirements in compliance with company policies and procedures. Tasks include but are not limited to: general reception duties; administer personnel time sheets and leave; maintain control system for office inventory; maintain office filing system; make travel arrangements for staff and consultants; manage petty cash; manage procurement procedures; review reports submitted by consultants and process payment; and general office duties
The incumbent must be a resident of Idku or in its vicinity with a bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant work experience
(5) M&E / Training Assistant
Under the direct supervision of the M&E / training manager, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining M&E system and procedures and for coordinating with technical and administrative staff members to organize all training activities. Specific duties include but are not limited to: develop and maintain the training calendars for the three project components (agriculture, fisheries and association capacity building); prepare weekly activity reports to be submitted to the donor; facilitate training events; collect lists of trainees from project staff and consultants; maintain and populate the project database; participate in developing progress reports and success stories; and participate in administering baseline and impact surveys of project beneficiaries
The incumbent must be a resident of Idku or in its vicinity with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, agriculture, marine biology, business administration) and five years of relevant work experience
(6) M&E / Training Manager
Under the supervision of the project director, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the project’s M&E system and procedures and for overseeing organization of training activities. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: design and implement the project’s performance monitoring plan and all requisite tools, forms, etc.; design and implement baseline and follow up surveys and prepare analyses of survey findings; train and coordinate with other M&E staff to establish & maintain project database as well as efficient filing system for training; train project staff and consultants who participate in administering surveys; conduct periodic reviews of project database to ensure validity of data; prepare periodic M & E reports for submission to donor; and coordinate and manage the preparation of quarterly progress reports, success stories and final project report for the donor
The incumbent must be a resident of Idku or in its vicinity with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, agriculture, marine biology, business administration) and ten years of relevant work experience
